About Brian..

Dog Trainer, Somatic Guide, Behavior Specialist

I’ve worked professionally with dogs and their people for over 20 years. My work is not limited to obedience or any single training style. It focuses on behavior, structure, and the patterns that shape how dogs and humans function together over time.

Since 1998, I’ve worked across a wide range of canine settings, including veterinary care, shelter and rescue work, companion dog training, working dogs, and sport dogs. My experience includes apprenticeships, group classes, private coaching, board-and-train programs, and long-term case support for both owners and canine professionals.

Over the years, I’ve learned that lasting progress comes from clear structure, steady leadership, and realistic expectations. Methods matter, but context, timing, and nervous system state matter more. My current work centers on ongoing coaching and consultation for dog owners, trainers, handlers, and organizations who want consistent guidance rather than isolated sessions.

My approach is:

• Practical and structured, designed for real environments and real constraints

• Balanced and trauma-aware, attentive to stress, capacity, and recovery in both dogs and people

• Integrative, drawing from behavioral science, modern training tools, and basic somatic regulation practices

This work focuses on understanding patterns beneath behavior and adjusting structure before problems escalate. The goal is stability, clarity, and repeatable decision-making that holds up over time.
